Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the culture exchange year in July 2014 when he attended the China-Latin America and the Caribbean Summit in Brasilia. 　　今年是中国与拉美和加勒比国家文化交流年。2014年7月，中国国家主席习近平在巴西利亚出席中国、拉美和加勒比国家峰会时，提出了文化交流年的计划。 　　A wide variety of cultural activities to promote Chinese and Latin America culture, advance mutual friendship and understanding, and push forward bilateral cooperation have been held throughout the whole year.
